I founded Informing Ecological Design, LLC, in 1997. I earned a Ph.D. (statistics) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and use a range of relevant methods and techniques from industrial engineering. My background in ecology comes from lab investigations and data analysis of constructed ecosystems and volunteer work to restore prairies and savannahs.
My information design perspective has been shaped by my education in statistics and professional interaction with engineers who understand a theory of system design and create functional systems.
